Virutal PC on Vista64 with 16 bit installer apps??

Have Vista64 laptop with 4gb of RAM. Is virtualpc capable of being
installed under Vista64 and allow the installation and day to day use
of an application that has to be installed via a 16bit installer?

How much of a overhead does Virtual PC create?

Yes and no. VPC doesn't run any apps itself, but you could create a
virtual machine and install a 16-bit OS in it. You could then run the app
under this OS.

Yes, 32-bit applications that use 16-bit installers cannot be used on Vista x64,
because the installation program will not run. [The same application would
likely run on Vista x64 if it had a 32-bit installer.]

If you install a 32-bit guest under VPC, then you can do anything that you could
do on a physical 32-bit OS, including running a 16-bit installer (or other
16-bit program).
