| | Re: Sharing folders on XP and DOS (guest) I put the line C:\addition\fshare.exe in my autoexec.bat But there is an error which says ERROR: Folder Sharing is not supported on this host I shut down DOS, then find that shared folders option is dimmed. I've tried to install the Addition stuff within the guest to no avail. What extra steps do I need to perform in order to get folders shared. Thanks in advance Jack |

Then, You will be given a screen tot choose the image and navigate as necessary to the .vfd file called "Dos Virtual Machine Additions.vfd" -- click on that file twice (open it) and it will mount that file in your virtual floppy drive. Now, In the DOS virtual machine, at the C:\ prompt, key "A:\Dosadd and enter. A textual splash screen will let you know that the .bat is operating......... That .bat will change your autoexec.bat and config.sys files and add directories and files or whatever, as necessary........... Then you need to restart the VM and establish a shared folder. (When it is not running it will show "shared folders" as "not installed".) (report if any problems.......it's early :-)) Cheers! FACE |
