| | Can't ping another VM I can't get 2 VM's to ping one another. The host machine is XP Pro. Both vm's are Virtual PC One is running Server 2003, the other is XP Pro. I have it setup like this: VM1-XP Pro IP: 172.16.1.99 SM: 255.255.0.0 DG: 172.16.1.254 | VM2 - Server 2003 NIC #1 IP 172.16.1.254 (Private network) SM: 255.255.0.0 DG: none NIC #2 IP 192.168.1.22 (Public Network) SM: 255.255.255.0 DG: 192.168.1.1 | Linksys Router 192.168.1.1 | Internet On all of the interfaces, Windows Firewall is turned off. The vm is set to Local Only on the 2 private network interfaces. What I ultimately want to do here is some testing with RRAS on the 2003. I will add another vm 2003 server. But I can't do any testing until I can ping on the private network. TIA |

You should not need to disable the firewalls. All you need to do is enable ICMP echo. |

| | Re: Can't ping another VM it had something to do with RRAS. After disabling RRAS I could ping the server. I re-configured it and I could still ping with no problem. So I don't know exactly what it was.
