| | Not enough memory available on the host Running Vista Ultimate x64 as host. Trying to run server 2003 on Virtual PC 2007 with SP1. I have loaded the VMC file from a colleagues install of server. I have pointed it towards the virtual hard disk file. When I attempt to start the environment in Virtual PC, I get the error; "The virtual machine could not be started because there was not enough memory available on the host" The host is running 4GB. In the settings for the image i'm trying to run I have tried allocation from 1.5GB of RAM to 3GB. All with no luck. Any suggestions? |

Then on the target you create a new virtual machine using the Wizard and when it reaches the disk part you select to browse for the existing (copied) VHD file. This way you will get the VPC2007 settings correct for yuur own host system. And the new machine will have a different MAC address for the network so it won't collide if running on the same network as the original. A note: Unless you are both MSDN members and are using a Win2003 system created from the MSDN disks you might find yourself in violation of Microsoft's license conditions if you make a copy like this....
