    Is there a way to have the aero interface running in virtual pc or vmware?

    If your host is Vista with Aero, you can connect to your Vista VM via
    RDP and have Aero in the VM.

    It does here, can you describe your setup? Is Aero enabled on the
    host?

    One thing is I think you have to set the "Experience" to LAN...

    Yes. Ultimate 64 bit, Core 2 Quad, 4 GB RAM, 512 MB Radeon 2600 Pro video
    card.

    It is. I get Vista Basic this way. All of the options are checked on the
    Experience tab also.

    One thing I just thought of. My VM is Business. Does that even have
    Aero?

    sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't
    If you use the Remote Admin tools from the server admin packs it
    doesn't work.
