Virtual PC 2007:Vista SP1 Performs Unacceptable,Vista w/o SP1 Run Well

I am running an XP computer. I installed Virtual PC and started tested
Vista. This was running fine. Once I installed Vista SP1, performance has
hot rock bottom. The installation took hours. After the installation,
boot-up and performance is so bad it may as well be a Blue Screen.

Is there anything that needs to be configured to make Vista SP1 run well
under virtual PM? I reinstalled Vista w/o SP1 and all is fine again

How much RAM does your host have?

How much of it have you allocated to the VM??

Update to Virtual PC 2007 SP1 and then uninstall and reinstall the
additions.

I have 1 GB applied to the Vista machine-Ultimate

I am currently running Virtual PC SP1

Again, this machine runs fine. It was when I installed Vista Ultimate w/SP1
that I encountered issues. It loads unbelievably slow (A few hours) and its
performance its terrible

Re: Virtual PC 2007:Vista SP1 Performs Unacceptable,Vista w/o SP1 Run Well

I am not sure why the Vista SP1 did not install correctly. The install
package was downloadedfrom TechNe. I have 1 GB of RAM dedicated to the VM
and have virtual machine additions installed. It took way too long to
install. I did run the Vista test to ensure the PC was within Vista
compliance.

To ensure all was well, I downloaded the Vista w/o SP1 from technet. The
virtual machine was running fine with this installation. I proceded to run
all the Vista updates including SP1. All is running well now. It may have
been a conflict with the Virtual PC and Vista SP1 load.
