| | Windows updates Fail to install I have set up an XP virtual PC. I managed to download and install some update, including service pack 3. I have tried to update media player to version 11 but the install fails, no error code given or reason for failure. I have just installed Office 2007 and downloaded all the updates, non will install, just git a failue message but no error codes. Any ideas? Regards |

| | Re: Windows updates Fail to install I have a definite feeling that this is probably caused by the video card the VM is emulating. It is only a 4Mb S3 Trio. | | RE: Windows updates Fail to install Found out what my problem was from the knowledge base; somthing to do with XP service packs 2 and 3 and microsoft updates. Anyway the problem was some files had failed to register correctly. I re registered them and all is now fine. Put the following in a text file and rename as reg.bat and run the file : REGSVR32 WUPS2.DLL /S REGSVR32 WUPS.DLL /S REGSVR32 WUAUENG.DLL /S REGSVR32 WUAPI.DLL /S REGSVR32 MUCLTUI.DLL /S REGSVR32 WUCLTUI.DLL /S REGSVR32 WUWEB.DLL /S REGSVR32 MUWEB.DLL /S REGSVR32 QMGR.DLL /S REGSVR32 QMGRPRXY.DLL /S Regards "Bart" wrote: Quote: > I am having the same problem.
