| | VPC IM driver(VMNetSrv.sys) race condition with nVidia nForce Ethe hello group, i believe there is a race bug during initialization in either VMNetSrv.sys or the nForce Gigabit Ethernet device driver (nvmfdx32.sys 1.00.01.06772) that causes frequent network connection failure on system boot up. and only after a few reboots the connection could come up ok. unbind VMNetSrv.sys (Virtual Machine Network Service) will fix this problem. i then tried some other IM drivers and they worked ok with nForce driver. so it looks to be more likely a VPC bug. this happens with both VPC 2007 SP1 and pre SP1. also with Vista SP1 and RTM. some more info can be found in: http://brute4s.com. i couldnt find the appropriate MS connect group to file this bug so i'm putting it here. - hao |
