Vista - Multimedia Beethoven

I can get the old program on CD "Multimedia Beethoven" to work fine on my HP
Tablet PC (WinXP Pro Tablet Edition, Intel Pentium M, SoundMax Integrated
Digital Audio) using a Win98 virtual machine. I hear the sound fine.

But I can't get the sound to work on my main desktop (Vista Ultimate, Intel
Core 2 duo, Creative SB X-Fi) using the same Win98 machine files. I even
recreated a fresh new Win98 machine, installed "Multimedia Beethoven", and
still, I get no sound when trying to play the product. Other products (like
Microsoft Musical Instruments) play sound fine using the Win98 VPC.

Any thoughts on how to get it to work using the VPC on my main desktop
computer?
