noobie questions on vpc

I am new to virtual Pc and only heared of it recently. I just got a laptop that runs vista x64 home premium. Before installing vpc, I wanted to know if there was any side effects from installing vpc, and can I delete it later without harming my original host windows or having to reinstall it.

also what happens to the hard drive space, and ram? do they split or are they shared since this is just like a program running without having to do partition etc.

sorry for the many question, and thanks in advance

VPC2007 is an application and can be installed and uninstalled in the
usual manner.

Virtual machines are for VPC2007 like "documents" to other
applications. A virtual machine uses two different files located on
the host computer disk:
A VMC file to hold the configuration data for the virtual machine
A VHD file to hold data thta otherwise would be written directly to
disk by the guest. Each disk drive inside the guest is a VHD *file* on
the host system.

If you uninstall the VPC2007 application and then delete all of the
VMC and VHD files you will have removed the VPC system from your
computer...

Re: noobie questions on vpc

thanks for the really fast reply, that really helps. Guess I should give it a go and see how it goes. But just to re-confirm as im scared about doing this lol. I can just unistall it just like any other program and just like any program it wont mess with partitions, or anything and my computer will be normal like usual. thanks again

VPC2007 *is* just an application like any other. It never messes with
lowlevel stuff like your disks, all it does is store data files on the
disks just like any other application would do.
And it is not a multiple boot system, any virtual machine you create
using VPC2007 will run only inside a program window on your desktop
managed by the application VPC2007.
