Location of Virtual Files

Hi all,

Can the virtual image file reside on a flash drive or usb hard drive instead
of the main drive of the system? Planning on using this on a laptop and am
somewhat limited by drive space.

Thanks

Re: Location of Virtual Files

Flash drives are too slow, but external USB2 drives are okay for the
most part, though you might run into troubles if it's not fast enough.

I put a lot of my guest files (vmc and vhd) on USB2 connected 2.5"
drives. Works just fine and also makes them portable.

Flash memory is not advisable because they are slow and have limited
write endurance.

I had hoped an express card SSD would work better, but the Lexar I
got has abysmal read/write performance.

I use Iomega REV drives all the time - they work very well...
