| Vista Ultimate x64 | MS Virtual PC 2007 with Vista Ultimate 64bit Hi folks, I have loaded MSVPC 2007 and created a single VM - Win XP Pro; host OS is Vista Ultimate 64bit. The XP VM was created without any problems however, I have the annoying following issue: From XP VM, I can ping the host OS and back again; that's it ... cannot ping the Router gateway or any other device on my network. Tried to change IP properties; no success ..... thanks in adavnce. |

Under the VM's networking options, which did you select, host NIC, Shared Networking, etc? -- Cheers, Steve Jain, Virtual Machine MVP http://vpc.essjae.com/ |

| Vista Ultimate x64 | Re: MS Virtual PC 2007 with Vista Ultimate 64bit Hi there Steve, Thanks for the prompt reply; your sensible questions prompted me to investigate further. I have 2 x NVIDIA 1Gb NIC's; both of which were teamed; as soon as I unteamed the NIC's, I had immediate connectivity ..... the answer to your questions: Yes, the TCP/IP settings were the same as the hosts; the VM was obtaining an address by DHCP (Billion router); interesting I still couldn't ping it (all FW's turned-off); as for the VM networking options, I had NIC1 - Shared; NIC2 & 3 as the hosts NIC's. Is there a problem with VM working with Host teamed NIC's?. Many thanks. |
