| Ulitmate x64 | Trouble with VPC 2007 I installed VPC 2007 SP1 64 bit. No issues there. Host OS is Vista Ultimate x64. I have tried server 2003 and server 2008 with no luck. I have tried mounting the .iso from VPC and also using magic disk to mount the image and use the drive. No matter what I try I get: No Systemdisk. Booting from harddisk. Cannot load from harddisk. Insert Systemdisk and press any key. Any suggestions? I have done this on XP with no issues. I don't know what is happening here. thanks, Fred |

In VPC you'd get the "Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device" Where are these ISOs from? -- Cheers, Steve Jain, Virtual Machine MVP http://vpc.essjae.com/ |

| Ulitmate x64 | Re: Trouble with VPC 2007 The .iso are from MSDN. The first two lines when booting refer to disk formatted with win image. I have never seen this before. It happens if I try server 2003 or 2008 x86 or x64. |

Windows OS, there's no need to format the virtual hard disk manually first, as the installation process does all that... Quote: > I have never seen this before. | Ulitmate x64 | Re: Trouble with VPC 2007 I tried three different .iso files. None worked. I doubt all 3 could be corrupt. I have never seen the message about winimage before. I've tried re-downloading (to make sure I had the 64 bit version), uninstalling and reinstalling VPC, rebooted. No luck. I run VPC as admin. This is very strange. This is the first time I've tried to run VPC under X64, I did a lot with it under X86 and never had an issue. Could virus or firewall be causing some issues that is making this happen? |

If so do yourself a favour and *copy* the ISO file to your hard disk, then capture this ISO file in your guest and then reset the guest. I bet it will now boot up properly. -- Bo Berglund (Sweden) |
