Vista Tutorial - VPC 2007 SP1 and RAM

Setup VPC 07 sp1 in my Vista system and allocated 2 gb of the 4gb on my
machine. Question... do I loose use of the 2GB allocated by VPC permanently
(for example, when I'm not running VPC do I get my full 4GB RAM allocation
back?) or only when it is running?

Only when it is running, just like any other piece of application
software...

No, the RAM is only allocated to the VM when it is running.
