| Guest | Cannot install VM Additions I have my XP guest OS running in my VPC 2007. I click on Action/Install VM additions... and get a message that partly says "... VPC will automatically insert a CD image into the vitual machines CD-ROM drive, which should run VMA setup..." 1. I click continue and nothing happens. 2. How can this happen "VPC will automatically insert a CD image into the vitual machines CD-ROM drive" without my physical help. I don't understand this sentence at all. 3. Part of the original message above states "..if VMA does not run auto, open the CD-ROM drive inside of the VM and run the setup program." What setup program? -- Regards Tom |

When you click Action / Install VM Additions, VPC points the virtual machine at that ISO so that its autorun kicks in and the installation starts - the virtual equivalent of putting a CD in the optical drive... | Guest | Re: Cannot install VM Additions Yes ran Setup.exe in the CD, says it completed normally and required a restart, I hit restart, it went to Windows is saving settings...and nothing...would not close down. I closed down via the console. Started it again and is sitting on starting up (ie XP logo and status bar underneath moving horizontally). Went to Settings in the console and it knows nothing about additions being installed. -- Regards Tom "Mark Rae [MVP]" wrote: Quote: > "ThomasAJ" <ThomasAJ@xxxxxx> wrote in message > news:0CDDC06B-A02A-48C8-AF18-47B662B365AC@xxxxxx > Quote: > > I click on Action/Install VM additions... and get a message that partly > > says > > "...
