Let me add -- for what it's worth, this fix also applied perfectly in the following environment:

Visual Server 2005 R2
Centos 5.2 with Kernel version 2.6.18-92

Keywords: centos 5.2 mouse no move stuck pointer x configuration inputdevice corepointer
