Problems installing MS Virtual PC 2007

Hi,

I've got a question regarding installing MS Virtual PC 2007.
I'm trying to install this software on a Vista Ultimate 64-bit machine.
While it's installing my internet connection disconnects and it seems that
the installation hangs (the progress bar of the installation is full, but he
doesn't continue)

Have any of you have ideas to solve this problem?

What "security" software, e.g., anti-virus or personal firewall, are you
running?

Virtual PC 2007 only supports 32-bit guest operating systems. If you want to try the 64-bit edition in a virtualized environment I suggest to use Hyper-V.

Re: Problems installing MS Virtual PC 2007

There are two versions of VPC2007 - a 32-bit and a 64-bit. Make sure
you are using the 64-bit version for installation on a Vista 64-bit host.

Not quite... Both are 32-bit - one has a different virtualisation driver
designed to be installed on 64-bit systems, but it's still a 32-bit app:

true, but to avoid confusion I try to think of them as two separate
downloads - even MS thinks so and identifies them as such. It even
provides two different links.

So do I - because they are...

No choice, since they're two different installs, one for use on a 32-bit OS
and the other for use on a 64-bit host...

Absolutely NOT. Mark gives some very good advice. He and I knew what I
meant but we both tend to be pedantic.
