From the VPC help file (search for: remove)
----
Removing Virtual PC or a virtual machine
You can remove virtual machines from the list of available virtual
machines individually or you can completely remove Virtual PC from a
computer.

Removing a virtual machine
You remove a virtual machine by using the Remove option on Virtual PC
Console, and each virtual machine must be removed individually. To be
removed, the virtual machine must be closed or in a saved state. When
you remove a virtual machine, it is only removed from the list of
available virtual machines. The virtual machine files, including the
virtual machine configuration (.vmc) file and virtual hard disk (.vhd)
file, are not deleted or changed when you remove a virtual machine.

For more information about how to remove a virtual machine from a
computer, see Remove a virtual machine.

Removing Virtual PC
You remove Virtual PC by using Add or Remove Programs in Control
Panel. Removing Virtual PC from a computer only removes the Virtual PC
program. All virtual machine files, including the virtual machine
configuration (.vmc) file and virtual hard disk (.vhd) file, remain on
the computer.

Important

If you uninstall Virtual PC by using Remote Desktop, the removal
process ends the Remote Desktop session. This occurs because the
Windows network stack is rebuilt after uninstalling Virtual PC network
drivers. Wait a few seconds before reestablishing the connection.

For more information about how to remove Virtual PC from a computer,
see Remove Virtual PC.
