My problem is this:

i have a laptop pc with Intel(R)Core(TM)2Duo T7250 @2.00 GHZ 4GB RAM
Windows Vista Businnes Edition 32 bits. GeForce 8400m GS 256 Video.

Im using this laptop for develop software but i have virtual pc installed
with windows 2000, and SQL 2005 y VS.NET 2005, im assigned to VPC 2 GB RAM
but still run very slow and i dont know why. Can anyone know why VPC do that.
For develop is a very frustating situation.

Thanks.

Re: virtual PC run slow

Have you installed the VPC Additions?

If so, try this:

3.2gb-2gb=1.2gb for the host......
Slow HD....
VPC singlethreaded on a C2D. So it's not really taking advantage of
multiple cores. (and it's an old processor as well).

Windows 2000 as guest when you should be using XP.

So:

Get a laptop with a faster/better processor.
Get more RAM and/or use Vista/2008 64bit host OS to take advantage of
the RAM you have.
Get a faster HD (7200+ Western Digital, solid state preferred but
costs money for too little HD space)
Install Vmware Workstation. VPC is known for it's slowness.
Be sure to enable Virtualization in the laptop BIOS if it has the
option.
Make sure you are using Vista SP1.
