When can we excpect a new vma for vpc 2007?

and is there a way to download it manually from microsoft web site or some
other site?
because at the moment win 7 in vpc 2007 is barely crawling and i'm not 100%
sure it had something to do with my computer and i'm quite sure that at least
part of it it because that the current vma don't work so well with windows 7.

10x in advance.

You won't see VM Additions for Windows 7 until its out of beta. Theres
no point of trying to make them for constantly changing OS code.

Re: When can we excpect a new vma for vpc 2007?

but the fact in the matter is that most users who have downloaded windows 7
beta have installed it in virtual pc 2007 not in the normal way not to
mention the fact that
there are still not enaf drivers for windows 7 out there for all users so
what are you saying that if any one wants to check this windows in a proper
virtual machine he should use a non microsoft softwere like vmware who
updated more frequently?

any way lets hope microsoft want wait this long to update vpc 2007 in the
end

You can't *possibly* know that! How many people have downloaded Windows 7?

Stop for a second... The version of Windows 7 that you (and everyone else
outside Redmond) is using is the *VERY FIRST PUBLIC BETA*! It's not even
close to being a finished product yet - that's months away... If that's not
good enough for you, then I would respectfully suggest that you forget about
it until it's RTM...

Hmm - struggling to fathom out where you think Steve said that... ???

And, for the record, VMWare have no specific Windows 7 Tools yet:
http://communities.vmware.com/thread...1349?tstart=15.
When you install Tools on a VMWare guest running Windows 7, it uses the
Vista version, just like VPC does...

I'll be utterly amazed if there is any update to VPC to support Windows 7
until RC1 at the very earliest...

VM Ware's not going to update their tools for a Win 7 beta either.
You have to understand that Additions, Tools, etc are not a simple
program. You need to have a STABLE OS to create them from if you want
ANY type of performance increases. Also, if you have hardware
virtualization, the VM Additions don't make any significant
performance improvements.
If MS or VMW create Win7 Beta1 Additions, all the OS team has to do is
make a couple small changes in Win7 Beta2 and completely break them.
Also, you are talking several months to code, test, fix, test, and
finalize the Additions. By that time you're not going to want to run
Beta1 with Additions, you're going to want to use Beta2 or Beta3, and
the Additions for beta1 aren't going to work since the code will have
dramatically changed.

Windows 7 is BETA, its fluid, its going to change a lot before it's
released.
Where would you like the developers to focus? Creating code that will
be outdated and useless before they finish it (Additions) or working
on the next version of VPC or whatever client VM solution MS will
release?

Re: When can we excpect a new vma for vpc 2007?

i'm just hopping they are doing something but i want hold my breah for it
because i'm pretty sure other softwere like vmware would relese new versions
that would work better with windows 7 before microsoft would do that in the
end.
