64bit host 32 bit guest/s

I want to migrate to a 64 bit OS.

Do I need to use Virtual Server 64 bit version to be able to host 32 bit
Windows guest/s?

No you don't. There is a version of Virtual PC 2007 SP1 which is designed to
run on 64-bit OS:

However, it does not run 64 bit guests. Just so the OP knows this.

Thanks for that!

So what is the solution to my updated question.

I want to migrate to a 64 bit OS. In the process I want to be able to run 64
bit and 32 bit Windows guest/s?
Thus enabling me to overcome lack of 64 bit drivers for some applications.

In that case, neither Microsoft Virtual PC nor Microsoft Virtual Server will
do, since neither of them supports 64-bit guests.

Microsoft Hyper-V does support 64-bit guests - however, that's not a desktop
solution:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserv...-overview.aspx

For a desktop solution which supports both 32-bit and 64-bit guests, you're
currently looking outside the Microsoft arena - I'd suggest one of the
VMWare products, probably Workstation...

Note that VPC may not be a good solution for USB attached devices. Or
it may not even support them. However I sure could be wrong as I know
just enough about VPC to be dangerous.
