| | Strange DHCP Hi. I‘ve just replaced my PC, a client on an SBS2k3 R2 system. I’ve also started rebuilding my VPC’s I’ve done an XP Pro + Win 7, both machines have problems with DHCP. The IP Pool is 192.168.123.***. Both VPC’s are getting IP’s of 192.168.131.*** IPCONFIG /ALL shows an IP for the DHCP of 192.168.131.254 also same IP for default gateway. DNS is correct. I’ve since built another VPC on another client and that DHCP’s fine. It has to be something with Virtual PC on this machine. There are definitely no other DHCP servers on the network. There are no other machines with a 192.168.131 IP. This DHCP Server is a complete ghost! Any ideas please? TIA Jon |

| | Re: Strange DHCP Do you have the networking set to "Shared networking (NAT)" for the VM's? 192.168.131.*** is the range it uses for that and the DHCP server is VPC itself. You want to set the networking to you physical adapter if you want it to get the address from your real DHCP server. -- Bob Comer On Thu, 22 Jan 2009 11:53:03 -0800, Jon Morgan <JonMorgan@xxxxxx> wrote: Quote: >Hi. >I‘ve just replaced my PC, a client on an SBS2k3 R2 system. | | Re: Strange DHCP Thanks for the info guys. It would appear that VPC has not detected the NIC on the host. I'll have a look and see if I can find out why. | | Re: Strange DHCP The M/Board on my new PC is dual NIC, the 2nd adapter was set as default. I swapped the NIC's over and rebooted, works fine now. Thanks again.
