Vista - Virtual PC and Home premium x64

Sorry if this has been asked before. I want to get Windows 7 on a partition ASAP. Vista Home Premium is not on the list of supported OS. What is up with that? Does it work anyway?

You're posting in a Virtual PC newsgroup, but with Virtual PC, there is no
question whatsoever of partitions. It doesn't create a new partition on your
host's hard drive, or anything like that. When you say "I want to get
Windows 7 on a partition", do you mean that you want to create a new
partition for Windows 7 so that you can dual-boot...? If so, then Virtual PC
won't help you. You'll need some disk partitioning software e.g. Partition
Magic unless you are happy to trash your existing machine and rebuild it
with two partitions...

Alternatively, if you mean that you want to use Virtual PC so that you can
run Windows 7 in a virtual machine, then that's completely different, but
simple enough. Just make sure that you select Vista as the target operating
system template when you create the new virtual machine.

It's not perfect yet - Windows 7 is still in early beta - but it works well
enough, though lots of people have reported various problems with sound,
most of which can be fixed:

There are no Additions specifically for Windows 7 yet, but it seems to work
OK with the Vista Additions
The Home editions of Vista are not supported host OS for Virtual PC 2007.
However, they work perfectly well - just ignore the warning when you
install...

I didn't understand at the time of the post how VM worked. Now I do. I really wanted to know if I could use VM on Vista Home Premium x64. Sorry for the confusion and thanks for the help.
