| | Can either O/S version be the host? I currently use XP Pro. With XP as the host, can I install Virtual PC then install Vista as the guest? Asking only because I'm wondering if the newer O/S needs to be in the host position. Descriptions I've been reading for VPC, seem to talk about it in the context of Vista as host then XP as guest. |

| | Re: Can either O/S version be the host? Hi, Your setup will work. Either OS can be the host, and either OS can be the guest -- --Jonathan Maltz http://www.visualwin.com - A Windows Server 2003 visual, step-by-step tutorial site :-) http://vpc04.visualwin.com - Does <insert OS name> work on VPC 2004? The actual host OS is irrelevant in relation to the guests (VMs), as long as the host OS can run VPC. Running Vista as a guest has some limitations, no Aero, no USB, etc. -- Cheers, Steve Jain, Virtual Machine MVP http://vpc.essjae.com/ |
