| | Problems Connecting m-audio usb sound card to Virtual PC My PC runs Vista and because I am not able to run my Cubase SX3 on Vista, I downloaded virtual PC and installed XP on it to run the Cubase to do music recording. The problem I am having is that I can't get the virtual PC to connect to my m-audio fast track USB, that has been installed on my the main computer, so as to solve the latency issues on my virtual PC. I have installed Virtual PC correctly and i have sound coming through, but the sound card shown under the virtual PC volume settings is the sound blaster 16, instead of the m-audio fast track, that'll allow for a lower latency when i am recording. I 'll appreciate anyone's help. Thanks. Kenny -- kennyo |

I 'll appreciate anyone's help. Thanks. Virtual PC does not support USB devices for the guest (and in any case AFAIK the guest cannot use the host's sound card, even if it is not USB). If you only need to use this sound card occasionally, dual booting may be a solution for you. If you want to go this route I would recommend a third party boot manager, such as the excellent BootIt NG. -- David Wilkinson Visual C++ MVP |
