| Vista Home Premium 64 bit | Tablet Control Hello, my company got me a new tablet PC for off site sales, but we run a very old version of Navision Financials, that will only install on windows XP. Since the tablet came with Vista 64 bit home premium, I installed VPC to run an instance of windows XP. The program installed just fine, but the tablet control is all over the place. The bubble that appears when the stylus touches the screen in directly where the tip is, but the actual cursor is totally random, flying all over the place. I have the resolution on both host and guest set the same, but it still wont work. I activated VPC 'additions', but that screwed the display settings through the wall, so I am updating to SP2 now, hoping that will fix the display, but does anyone have any suggestions to get the tablet pen tracking to work? I would love to simply install the tablet program on the xp VPC, but HP has decided in their infinite wisdom to stop giving recovery and software discs out with their new computers. HELP! Thank you. |

HELP! >Thank you. hardware, completely separate and different from the host PC. There is no digitizer in the VM. A VM is a basic PC. You can look in the VPC help for the list of emulated hardware in a VM. Also, you won't have much luck using most OEM versions of Windows inside a VM. Generally, they are BIOS locked or there is some kind of hardware detection routine that looks for HP specific signatures somewhere and it won't be found in a VM. A VM has no HP hardware, only emulated hardware. Also, you're in violation of the OEM agreement which only allows you to run that OEM OS on the original hardware, which a VM isn't. -- Cheers, Steve Jain, Virtual Machine MVP http://vpc.essjae.com/ |

If so, this should be somewhat like using VPC over RDP, in that the mouse moves with absolute positioning rather then relative positioning, and so basic mouse functionality should work in the guest environment once additions are installed. |
