| | Questions about tranferring VHD files to new storage device I've just set up a new NAS device to take the place of a storage-constrained USB device. Right now I'm copying the VHD files over (it will take some time). I've got two questions: First, can I simply edit the VMC files to change the VHD file location - or, must I start-up Virtual PC 2007 and make the changes via the GUI? Second, can the locations be UNC-based as opposed to drive letter? Thanks! Larry |

I didn't go as far as completing the installation but, having got as far as I did, I have no doubt that it would have worked... -- Mark Rae ASP.NET MVP http://www.markrae.net |

| | Re: Questions about tranferring VHD files to new storage device I am happy to report that the files got copied over in about 2 hours (more than 50GB). Then, using EditPlus, I replaced "D:\" with the newUNC in all of the VMC files. Virtual PC works just fine with UNC!
