networked printer problem

dell Inspiron 530, quad 2.6ghz, 3gb, XP SP3 32bit, VPC 2007 sp1 XP SP3 guest,
networked
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have a VPC that talks to the internet correctly, and can ping my network,
and my network printer.

I cannot interact with any part of the network except my router [192.168.1.1]

This is not a problem except that I want to print to the networked printer.

I could use some help.

What should I be doing to try to fix this?

How is the networking configured? Does the vm get its network config
from DHCP on the router? Is it in the same domain/workgroup as the LAN
machines?

The networking software has no way to tell if your machine is a vm or
not. If it is correctly configured, it will look just like any other machine
on your LAN and use any resources available to the LAN machines.
