how to tell if the 64-bit version of VPC is installed?

My "real" system is Vista Business 64-bit. I downloaded and installed
the 64-bit version of VPC 2007+SP1.

How do I tell what version of VPC (64 bit vs x86) is installed?
(Perhaps it is just that one can't install the x86 version on a 64 bit
OS, but I don't feel like running that experiment.)

It seems that the 64 bit version of VPC installs itself in the Program
Files (x86) folder tree -- why?

Exactly, the 32bit version wont install on a 64-bit OS.

Because it's still mainly a 32-bit app, only the drivers that come
with the 64-bit version are actually 64-bit.
