| | Re: Unable to open VPC on multiple computers. I installed MS Virtual PC 2007 on both the laptop and the desktop. I made the Virtual Machine on the laptop and stored in on my WD 250 GB USB HDD. I want to be able to use it on both the desktop and the laptop. When I open up MS VPC 2007 on the laptop the VM shows in the console. When I open the MS VPC 2007 on the desktop it doesnt show up in the console. So I tried to add it to the console and it wont be added because there are no .vmc files to add it. Advice??? - Fresno Techie "Mark Rae [MVP]" wrote: Quote: > "Fresno Techie" <helpme@xxxxxx> wrote in message > news:E3F4E6BF-081E-42C0-BBE5-39AA8A42C993@xxxxxx > Quote: > > I built a VPC on my laptop and would like to open it on my desktop, I > > thought > > that this was possible. | | Re: Unable to open VPC on multiple computers. And why does that surprise you? If you install Word on two machines, then create a document on one machine, would you expect to be able to read or edit it on the other machine? VPC is simply an application program. If you want to run the vm on the second machine, you will have to transfer the necessary files to the second machine, as Mark pointed out. | | Re: Unable to open VPC on multiple computers. I was missing the VMC files that is why i was unable to use the VHD file on the desktop. I created a new VMC using the VHD i already had and it created the necessary VMC files to enable me to go from machine to machine. Thanks for the direction. -- Fresno Techie "Mark Rae [MVP]" wrote: Quote: > "Fresno Techie" <helpme@xxxxxx> wrote in message > news:6EFFEF7B-BEE4-4F64-BF1B-4A25AFF5CFF1@xxxxxx > Quote: Quote: > >>> I built a VPC on my laptop and would like to open it on my desktop, I > >>> thought that this was possible.
