| | Accessing content on local HDD from within a VM? I have content on the HDD of a local PC that I would like to be able to access from within a virtual machine that is also running on that PC. This would enable me to install files from that HDD instead of having to burn them to a CD, create an ISO which I'd then have to mount, etc. Is there a simple way to access those files without having to go through the aforementioned steps? I've tried mapping a drive, opening a UNC to the share, etc all to no avail. I appreciate your help. Thanks, Kent PS WL Search, Google, Yahoo! didn't return any results but perhaps I'm using the search terms. |

Take a look at the VPC help for details on Shared Folders. If you're not moving a lot of files, you can drag and drop them from the HD to the VM. -- Cheers, Steve Jain, Virtual Machine MVP http://vpc.essjae.com/ |

| | Re: Accessing content on local HDD from within a VM? Steve, you rock! I had been using VS 2005 R2 for so long I didn't even notice the folder icon when I jumped over to VPC (which I needed to do to get my VHDs to work with Win7). Thank you!
