| | W7: VPC cannot load virtual network driver I've installed VPC SP1 twice on W7, and both times it says that it can't open the Virtual Machine Network Services driver. Does anyone know how to fix this? How does one re-enable the driver on a particular network adapter? Thanks, Dean |

| | Re: VPC cannot load virtual network driver I have tried all of the intstructions for on the Virtual PC blog about removing and adding the Virtual Network Services driver back into Vista. Still I cannot get Virtual PC 2007 SP1 to recognize the driver. I've uninstalled/re-installed, short of rebuilding the whole machine, I'm stumped. The driver shows loaded and bound to the NIC, but I still get the message from VPC that it cannot load the virtual network services driver. Short of rebuilding my laptop are there any other fixes out there other than this? Quote: > Following the Vista-specific instructions here: > http://blogs.msdn.com/virtual_pc_guy...etworking.aspx - |

You need an updated driver from the NIC/PC maker or another NIC with a compatible driver. No need to rebuild the host, it won't help. -- Bo Berglund (Sweden) |

| | Re: VPC cannot load virtual network driver Bo - Thanks for the reply. I should have stated, this was working previously. Something (patches?) happened to my machine that has caused this to stop working. The NIC is Intel(R) 82566MM Gigabit Network Connector. When I look at the properties for the Virtual Machine Network Driver all of the fields are blank, which seems odd to me. Also when I view the devices from Device Mangler, and show hidden devices, the Virtual adapters don't show up. |

Maybe an update to this driver did it -- try rolling back to a previous version of the driver. -- Bob Comer On Fri, 17 Apr 2009 09:53:05 -0700, Mike S <MikeS@xxxxxx> wrote: Quote: >Bo - > >Thanks for the reply. | | Re: VPC cannot load virtual network driver Robert/Bo - Thanks for the replies. I did sort of the opposite and checked for an updated driver for the NIC. It found one installed it, rebooted, and then virtual machine networking services was back. Thanks again. |
