Server takes ages

Hi all,

I have two questions:

1. I have Windows Server 2003 installed in one of the virtual pc. When I
shut it down through start>shud down it will take ages. Is that the case with
MS Virtual PC? What I can do the decrease the time?
2. I have virtual PC when I open all them each opens in its own window. Is
there any way to open all host PCs in the same window if so how I would
navigate between the virtual PCs?

many thanks.

Windows Server can take considerably longer to shut down than desktop OS -
it really depends what you have running on it...

Nothing, really, other than reduce the amount of apps / services running on
it... How much RAM does your host have, and how much have you assigned to
the virtual machine...?

No - Virtual PC doesn't have an MDI interface.

Re: Server takes ages

I have experienced this problem. Just wait, and wait....Eventually you will
get message about saving virtual machine and merging disks. Click yes and it
will shut down.

Instead go to File menu and chose Close. This will save virtual machine,
which is much faster than shutting down.
