Direct Access to serial ports

Hi guys. i need to know if i can gain total access to serial ports with a
virtual pc running msdos under windows xp. I need to program motorola radios
under native Msdos pc... windows xp don,t like 16bits apps touch hardware
directly.

Depends on what your software does concerning the hardware.
Inside a virtual machine most hardware is emulated so there is no real
"metal" there. Serial ports are redirected from the host if so set up
in the settings but at which level this is fdone I don't know. Quite
possibly it is not low enough for your purposes. Only testing will
tell.
