VS2005/VPC2007

Can virtual server 2005 and virtual pc co-exist on same machine, such as XP
sp3, and communicate as well?

Yes they can coexist. If by communicate you mean over the network then yes,
no reason why they wouldn't. The apps themselves don't communicate with each
other.

Yes, there's no problem with that combination, I have it that way all
the time.

Re: VS2005/VPC2007

I understand the answers but let me elaborate a bit more. I have a multi-gb
machine running XPsp3 and wish to run vpc and vs each with there own
configured machines, i.e. workstations and servers. Using Local Only, will
the workstation(s) running in vpc be able to communcate with server 2003
and/or exchange 2003 running in the virtual server?

Thanks in advance for the help!

Re: VS2005/VPC2007

I've never tried that configuration, but I would be surprised if it
worked. I think the local only in VPC is different than the Internal
network in Virtual Server.

There's no reason you couldn't run all the VM's in one or the other
(VPC or Virtual Server)

You might run out of RAM.

Yes, if you are using several virtual machines, you should really run a 64-bit
OS in the host, so you can use more RAM in the machine.

No, local only is specific to the VPC app, it won't see anything
running outside of VPC. VMs on Virtual Server would be on a different
internal network.

What you could do is install the MS Loopback adapter and set up both
VPC and VS to use that and you should have internal network
communications between them.
