Keep getting I/O error after hard crash

The virtual PC is running Windows 2003 server. After a forced shut down, it
keeps getting I/O error. A check in Event Viewer found the following entries
every few seconds: "The driver detected a controller error on
\Device\Harddisk0".

Any ideas how to get this fixed? Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Re: Keep getting I/O error after hard crash

It sounds like the VHD got corrupted.

Is that the event viewer on the host, or the VM?

Re: Keep getting I/O error after hard crash

Have you tried running CHKDSK in the VM?

Actually it could be an error in the hosts file system, so you should
run a chkdsk there too.
