| | Managing network adapter availability for virtual machines The help text VirtualPC.chm file included with Virtual PC 2007 as the Help file discusses the topic - "Managing network adapter availability for virtual machines" discusses various options that can be selected while assigining an emulated network card (one of the four cards available) to any network card installed on the physical computer. Of these, the fourth option -"Network adapter on the physical computer" is not available in the drop-down list of options. I want to have the virtual machine connected directly to the currently selected network connection of the host operating system. How to configure the Virtual PC's network adapter so that the Virtual PC behaves like a separate computer on the network. |

| | RE: Managing network adapter availability for virtual machines Solution: The General tab of the "Local Area Connection Properties" of the Adapter of the Physical machine should display an item inside the "This-connection-uses-the following-items" list box by the name - ""Virtual Machine Network Services"" without this the NIC option is not displayed in the Virtual machine emulated adapters drop-down list options. (Only three options appear otherwise 1. Local only 2. NAT 3. No Connection) To install VM Network Services reinstallation of the Virtual PC is required. Also, the below link is helpful. http://blogs.msdn.com/virtual_pc_guy...etworking.aspx "skyW" wrote: Quote: > The help text VirtualPC.chm file included with Virtual PC 2007 as the Help > file discusses the topic - > "Managing network adapter availability for virtual machines" > discusses various options that can be selected while assigining an emulated > network card (one of the four cards available) to any network card installed > on the physical computer. > > Of these, the fourth option > -"Network adapter on the physical computer" > is not available in the drop-down list of options. > > I want to have the virtual machine connected directly to the currently > selected network connection of the host operating system.
