| | Virtual PC 6.0.156.0 vs SP1 Quick question...and thanks for what I hope is a non-time-consuming answer from those in the know here... The 6.0.156.0 version I am running on my XP Pro system...since I want to maximize the Windows 7 RC experience...do I need to uninstall it and go for the more recent one, since I suspect my version is NOT SP1? Thanks for help, as always, Peter -- pg |

| | Re: Virtual PC 6.0.156.0 vs SP1 Thanks for that, I already noted the difference in software numbers, and will install the sp1. I also need to thank you once again for your big file on setting up Virtual Machines on PC's with no floppy drive, I really don't think most people would have figured that out without your help! -- pg "Steve Jain [MVP]" wrote: Quote: > On Thu, 14 May 2009 10:04:04 -0700, petergoode > <petergoode@xxxxxx-microsoft.com> wrote: > Quote: > >Quick question...and thanks for what I hope is a non-time-consuming answer > >from those in the know here... > > > >The 6.0.156.0 version I am running on my XP Pro system...since I want to > >maximize the Windows 7 RC experience...do I need to uninstall it and go for > >the more recent one, since I suspect my version is NOT SP1? > > > >Thanks for help, as always, > > > >Peter > VPC 2007: 6.0.156.0 > VPC 2007 SP1: 6.0.192.0 > > the SP1 installer is a full install, not an upgrade, but IIRC, you > don't need to uninstall the older version first. > > -- > Cheers, > Steve Jain, Virtual Machine MVP > http://vpc.essjae.com/ > |

I'm working on updating my site for VPC7, since it no longer has a virtual floppy drive, it makes it difficult to use VFDs for installing Win98. -- Cheers, Steve Jain, Virtual Machine MVP http://vpc.essjae.com/ |
