Share VPN with guest machine?

My VPN host is the client end of a Windows VPN. The VPN uses 169.254.1.x; the
VPC host's LAN IP (which the guest can reach) is 192.168.1.3; and according to
IPCONFIG, the VPC guest's IP is 192.168.131.65. Can I share the VPN connection
with a VPC guest machine? Thanks.

I just install and run the VPN session in the guest OS. I do this every
day and it works fine.

Will the VPC host be able to share it? My VPC host has a VPN connection that is
as permanent as it can be, often lasting for weeks; that's how I want it.

I don't know, I have never tried this. You should probably try setting the
guest OS to use NAT networking. That way it shares the host connection,
whatever that is. Connect your VPN on the host and see if the guest can
also connect to your VPN resources. It might work, but then again it might
not.

I do all my VPN stuff in the guest, leaving the host free to use the
internet, etc. without going thru the VPN and the office network.

I tried and it didn't work. But as I said before, the VPN uses 169.254.x.x
while the home LAN (seen by the guest) uses 192.168.x.x. Perhaps using another
part of 192.168.x.x for the VPN would help. I'll try when I get the time.

If in the VPN client config, you **do not** specify "Use default gateway on
network" then the VPN client uses the internet normally (not going through the
VPN).
