| | Re: WinVPC Sigh, I was hopping to gain access to my large format USB printers (WinXP drivers) through Win7's WinXP, and at the same time use VS to support multiple instances of my legacy software. 5 years ago I wouldn't have thought to use a whole VM simply to gain access to my printers, but here I am considering it as I have more invested in printers then computers. The printer drivers are the reason why I haven't looked at HyperV, and I would prefer to stick to VS because of the effort I previously made to program the VMRC interface. Anyone know if a backwards compatible VS will surface in conjunction with Win7. You think so? That's a blow. I have WHS running in Virtual Server on XP host, but I was planning on moving it to a Windows 7 host. -- David Wilkinson Visual C++ MVP |

At this point even my host is virtual (not yet built). One great advantage of the virtual host is that when the time comes I will not repeat the mistake I made last time: building a machine that does not support hardware virtualization. -- David Wilkinson Visual C++ MVP |
