| | VPC on Vista x64 - trying to install XP x64 I have Virtual PC (64-bit) (version 6.0.156.0) installed on my Vista Ultimate 64-bit computer. I'm attempting to install Windows XP Pro (64-bit). When I start up the Virtual XP - get this message after the bios POST and it loads the ISO I have: Attempting to load an x64 operating system, however, this CPU is not compatible with x64 mode. Please install a 32-bit x86 operating system. Setup cannot continue. Press any key to exit. Yes, I have a 64-bit operating system - unless my Windows System properties is lying to me and all the other x64 software I have installed is just in my imagination. Does anyone know what's happening here? maybe I missed a setting in my Virtual PC console? Thank you in advance for your responce. |

| | RE: VPC on Vista x64 - trying to install XP x64 I might have found my answer, but can anyone confirm this: Virtual PC 2007 does not support x64 Guest Operating Systems. You can install Virtual PC 2007 (the application itself) on x86 and x64, but cannot install a x64 Guest OS. Anyone know if this is correct? Thanks "SteveS" wrote: Quote: > I have Virtual PC (64-bit) (version 6.0.156.0) installed on my Vista Ultimate > 64-bit computer.
