| | Windows 7 + Windows Virtual PC = frozen host I have a Dell Inspiron 1721 latptop that freezes up every time I boot up a virtual machine. I'm running the RTM version of win7, and the RC version of WVPC. The lockup happens almost instantly after the guest boots. If I downgrade my bios to the previous version, i get BSOD instead. The BSOD mentions that an interrupt on a processor wasn't received in the expected time frame. The laptop has a Turion TL-56 processor in it - which is capable of hardware based virtualization. Any suggestions on how I can get WVPC working on this machine? |

| | Re: Windows 7 + Windows Virtual PC = frozen host Sorry for not being more clear - Windows 7 is my HOST. I'm trying to get the Virtual XP to work on my development laptop so that I can run older versions of IE & Visual Studio under the VMs. --Scott "whs" wrote: Quote: > > If you don't get it to work, you might want to try vBox. | | Re: Windows 7 + Windows Virtual PC = frozen host I've done all of that. Even tried to discuss it with dell - since what I've found points to it being something wrong with the BIOS - but they were less than helpful. If anyone at MS is paying attention to this thread, please tell DELL to fix the BIOS for this issue.
