| | Moving the My Virtual Machines directory I'm running MS Virtual PC v5.3.582.27 on a Windows XP Pro SP3 system. The contents of the My Virtual Machines directory has become quite large and my C: partition has less free space than I would like. I have plenty of room on another partition. How can I move my virtual machine files? I would prefer NOT to move the entire My Documents directory if possible. Thanks! John -- Please reply in this newsgroup. I never post my true email address to prevent spam. Thank you. |

I don't find it in either the options or settings menus on the Virtual PC Console. Thanks! John -- Please reply in this newsgroup. I never post my true email address to prevent spam. Thank you. |

You can treat virtual machines (VHD+VMC) like MS-Word documents: existing documents can be copied anywhere and opened in the new location. I have Virtual Machines al over my system in all kinds of directories and I have never set any environment variable. |
