instead of starting multiple threads for your same issue, it's a lot
easier to follow what you've done if you stick to 1 thread for this
issue.

if you disable the Windows firewall on the VM, can it's website be
accessed?

How is that not accessing a VM, to access a website, you need to have
network connectivity.

Ok, so you can ping the VM from the host? And the host from the VM?
And, you are not using Shared Networking?
What is the message you get when you put the VM's IP in your host's
web browser?

And for testing you have the VM's firewall off?

Are you using other software that would block port 80 on the VM, AV,
3rd party firewall, etc?

Can you open the website locally on the VM?

And you can successfully ping the host from the VM and vice-versa?

All right then. Since you are able to ping both ways there is actual
connectivity on the network. If the webpage is not available then you
have not set up the server or issued an erroneous URL.

So now the issue is *not* a VPC issue at all, just application/server
setup on the involved machines. So in actual fact you would be better
off asking on a relevant NG for that, for example
microsoft.public.inetserver.iis or an apache newsgroup.

My questions:
On the guest machine, which webserver did you install? There are
Apache (configured through the conf file) or MS IIS (a lot more
involved to configure) and a few others to choose from.

If you installed one of these, then the next question would be how you
configured your website access? Different methods on Apache and IIS,
but must be done properly before you can get inter-machine
connectivity.

What is the URL you give to your browser in order to load the website?

And please do not top-post like you have done so far, it makes your
replies that much more difficult to read. Insert your answers after
the corresponding question and your bulk remarks at the bottom,
please.

Re: Website access among host and VPC

-i have IIS installed on both machines with anonymous and windows integrated
option enabled
-i dont have apache installed on either machines
-its a basic URL like http://192.168.1.5 or http://VPCmachinename and it
does not seem to be working

thanks for your opinion
