Can't install Windows Server 2003 on Virtual PC 2007

Hi,

Am trying to setup Windows Server 2003 on virtual PC, but am unale to
acheive this (despite already having a SuSE linux virtual PC). Every time i
try to install Server 2003 it either hangs at the DHCP prompt or tells me
that there are no USB drivers, before going back to "insert bootmedia"
prompt.

I'm pretty certain that the fault is mine, it's jsut that I don't know where
to start looking for it! So any help would be very gratefull received.

Cheers.

Where is the Server 2003 install media? If you are having problems
reading it, create an ISO image and install from that.

Re: Can't install Windows Server 2003 on Virtual PC 2007

Bill,

Thanks for the heads up. Have tried installing as an *.iso file, but still
no joy. The source file is a genuine copy of MS server and I've had it
running up on my (now departed) Compaq ML330 server in the past.

Any extra ideas?

Re: Can't install Windows Server 2003 on Virtual PC 2007

I would delete the vm and start again. DHCP and USB should not have
anything to do with this in any way.

Create a new vm. Start it and drag the ISO on to the CD icon, then reset
the vm.

Is your Windows an OEM version from Compaq? This could be the
problem.
