Hi!
I sometimes get the "\\server is not accessible. You might not have
permission to use this netork resource. Contact the administrator of this
server to find out if you have access permissions.
The account is not autorized to log in from this station." error message
when trying to access a share on one of our servers.

The server I am trying to acces is a virtual server.
It's a Windows 2003 R2 sp2 virtual server 2005 with one nic.
Its also a domain controller with dns and print server.
(We also have a non physical machine that is acting as dc, dns, dhcp.)
The account I am using doman administrator.

And if I tries to access with the ip-adress it works.
So it looks like a name resolution problem, I just haven't been able to
figure out how to fix it.
And I can access the server with name from other servern/workstation
sometimes.

The physical machine have all the fsmo roles and GC, dns is ad integrated so
not much I can do there.

I have run netdiag, dcdiag and repadmin /showreps

netdiag
NetBT name test. . . . . . : Passed
[WARNING] At least one of the <00> 'WorkStation Service', <03> 'Messenger
Service', <20> 'WINS' names is missing

NetBT name test. . . . . . . . . . : Passed
[WARNING] You don't have a single interface with the <00> 'WorkStation
Service', <03> 'Messenger Service', <20> 'WINS' names defined.

The test passed but with a warning. We don't have wins installed.

And with dcdiag it failed on the system logs.
In the system log I found a Event ID: 4319, source NetBT
A duplicate name has been detected on the TCP network. The IP address of
the machine that sent the message is in the data. Use nbtstat -n in a command
window to see which name is in the Conflict state.
0000: 00 00 00 00 01 00 58 00 ......X.
0008: 00 00 00 00 df 10 00 c0 ....ß..À
0010: 05 01 00 00 23 b5 a8 c0 ....#µ¨À

But its the only computer on the network named this way.

and When I translate the gibberish on row 0010: I get a variety of different
machines, both servers and client that it says is the problem.
