| | Virtual Server 2005 support 1GB gigabyte network Hi, We bought Dell R805 server with Broadcom gigabyte network, installed Win2k3 64 bit OS and top this installed MSVS2005 R2. Guest OS on the MSVS 2005 not supporting 1 gigabyte network. when we changed to 100 mbps it starts working. Cheers Yog |

Because of the virtualization overhead you should get about 500 to 600 Mbit -- Peter Forster MVP Virtual Machine Austria |

| | Re: Virtual Server 2005 support 1GB gigabyte network With that type of hardware, why not move to Hyper-V. By default the NIC speed of the guest is 10gb. It will still only use what is available from the hardware uplink however. -- Rob McShinsky http://www.virtuallyaware.net "Yog" <Yog@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:B7DC677A-A8DF-4CA6-94A3-F663AE7A40CB@xxxxxx Quote: > Hi, > We bought Dell R805 server with Broadcom gigabyte network, installed > Win2k3 > 64 bit OS and top this installed MSVS2005 R2. | | Re: Virtual Server 2005 support 1GB gigabyte network That's strange. All of my Hyper-V VMs show a link speed of 0bps in Task Manager and in Adaptor Properties. -- Tom Mason Vista X64 Ultimate ASUS A8N32-SLI AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+ 4 Gb RAM Gigabyte GeForce 8500 GT "Steve Jain" <noreply.-@-.essjae.com> wrote in message news:a42m64pchmcnkk9i93t4lr9k7vidui5v0e@xxxxxx Quote: > On Tue, 1 Jul 2008 23:05:07 -0400, "Rob McShinsky" > <UseGroup@xxxxxx> wrote: > Quote: >>With that type of hardware, why not move to Hyper-V.
