Virtual PC 64 bit guests

I'm running virtual pc 2007 64 bit on a windows server 2003 64 bit edition
as the host OS. It seems to only be able to run 32 bit guests. Is there a
way to load windows server 2003 64bit guest operating systems on virtual pc
64 bit?? If not, do I need to install virtual server instead?

Thanks,
TJ

Re: Virtual PC 64 bit guests

The only Microsoft virtual environment that supports 64 bit guests is Server
2008 with Hyper-V.

Re: Virtual PC 64 bit guests

Neither Virtual PC nor Virtual Server will support 64-bit guests. Your only
Microsoft solution is Hyper-V, running as part of Windows Server 2008, if
your hardware supports it. From other vendors, something like VMWare
Workstation might be a good fit, but you'd have to convert any existing VMs
to work in it.

Re: Virtual PC 64 bit guests

Thanks. One question... will my existing VPC 2007 images work with the new
Hyper-V?

Thanks,
TJ
