Moving VHD files between VPC and Hyper-V

I am trying to move a demo VM from Hyper-V to my laptop which runs Virtual PC.
I have exported the VM from the Hyper-V machine and am now trying to set
this machine up on my laptop.

I am able to create a new machine (since the VM from Hyper-V does not
contain .VMC files) and add in the demo VHD.
Unfortunately when I try start the VM, the screen is just black. I see the
VM begin POST, then it just goes black.

I've tried moving the file to a Virtual server but get the same result.

Is it possible to move these files from Hyper-V to a VPc or Virtual Server?
I have also tried removing the Hyper-V client components from the Vm before
shutting down and copying the VHD but still get no joy.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Cheers
    Gareth

If the VM has the Hyper-V components, then it's possible, but it's not
an easy task because the HAL gets changed in the VM. You have to fix
that problem to get it to run in VPC. (You have to remove the
integration components as you said you did.)

So effectively there is no solution to this problem?
i have just upgraded to the Rtm version, I will give this a bash and see if
    it transports any better.

    Thanks for your reponse.

To keep all your snapshots? I think there is a solution but it's all
    manual and not easy.

    It should.
