| | Unable to start Virtual Sedrver I am trying to run Virtual Server on an XP laptop. When I try to start the administration web site, I get 404 Resource Not Found. Today, I tried to start it again at work (without any network connections, and not using the FQDN) and I managed to get started. I switched off, rebooted when I got home, and without changing any settings, got the error again. I've tried adding the address to trusted sites and I am not very frustrated. The event viewer shows a warning as follows An error has occured during the creation of Service Connection points for Virtual Server in Active Directory. Either a domain controller is not available to complete the operation or there is a security problem accessing the domain. This operation will be retried the next time the service starts. Error 0x8007054b - The specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted. And The service principal name for the VMRC server could not be registered. Automatic authentication will always use NTLM authentication. Error 0x8007054b - The specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted. And The service principal names for Virtual Server could not be registered. Constrained delegation cannot be used until the SPNs have been registered manually. Error 0x8007054b - The specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted. I hope that someone on here can point me in the right direction. |

| | Re: Unable to start Virtual Sedrver Did you turn off the default web site and then turn on the Virtual Server website on your XP machine? VMRC needs to be enabled before it'll work, which means you need to have the admin web site working first. I use the Computer Management console (Right click My Computer, select Manage) to turn on and off the web servers. | | Re: Unable to start Virtual Sedrver I have just managed to get it to work by disabling my wireless network card. Any ideas why it works now?
